to paraphrase Quentin Tarantino:
Sigh.
Tonight is my favourite, the Mookie, and if I can stay awake, I'm in!

Today was worth getting out of bed because (aka experiment day 3):
~ You didn't think it was going to be that easy, did you?Played the Razz installment of the BBT3 Skillz game last night. Why? I have no reason to report other than the fact I am a deeply disturbed little donkey.
~ You know, for a second there, yeah, I kinda did.
~ Silly donkey. Razz is not for you.
Sigh.
Tonight is my favourite, the Mookie, and if I can stay awake, I'm in!

Today was worth getting out of bed because (aka experiment day 3):
- of the unexpected and unsolicited "I love you" text message.
- of the taste of a Kraft caramel, which brought me back to the first summer I spent away from parental control and reminded me of all the things I learned then.
- the new hair conditioner leaves my hair feeling like it has not been coloured every month for the last 29 years.
- after 7 years, I still love where I work, who I work with and what I do. The previous record was 10 months.
- my grade 12 class wanted to watch this, which sparked a really interesting conversation about animation techniques, Disney, the Disnification of imagination, and racial stereotyping in North American cinema. Me, all I could remember was being a kid and the treat of seeing a real movie with my family.
My 4 year olds favorite thing to do in the whole world is go to real movies with the family. Two of the local theaters offer free movies for kids on Saturday morning. Granted, they aren't first run movies, but heck its still the big screen. Its a great way to introduce the little ones to the joy of just going to the theater to watch a movie.
BTW - Those are some pretty deep topics to talk about from a Disney movie. I like looking at how Disney movies have changed over time and the influence of competition on their quality. Pixar and Dreamworks pushing Disney to make great movies like they used to.
in case you are interested on Showtime or HBO or one of the premium cable channels there is a documentary move The Pixar Story which is real interesting and it includes its partnership with Disney, the almost dissolving of that partnership and great stories from all parties involved with hit after hit that they've made and great to see the humble beginnings.
I had to knuckle down and at least make a good enough showing in razz to make up for stinking up the TuckFards Monday night.
I was tired and probably shouldn't have played but I love most of the TuckFard crowd.
I managed 19th place last nite so, even though I finished out of the money, my self-esteem had some much-needed repair.
See you Friday.
