Just look at this hand...isn't it pretty? Nothing like flopping a nut flush to restore your faith in online poker.
Pity I folded it pre-flop, isn't it? Almost 2 hours into an MTT, blinds at 200/400, I'm in the SB with these lovelies when the big stack raises it to 5x BB in front of me. I'm at T7000-ish, but am trying to really watch position, I decide I don't feel comfortable with it and I fold. (Q - Would you have?)
I really wish I hadn't, as I'd have chipped up nicely, enough so I wouldn't have been crippled by this hand shortly after:
Ah well. I played well, and what more can you ask?

Hey Kat....
I know you like to enjoy your "girly chat." Did you see Pebbles post yesterday?
Hot topic!
Hey Kat... tough seeing that you would've flopped the nuts! Had a similar thing happen to me last night in one of the token frenzies: after I reraised a raiser, and was called by another then pushed all in by the original raiser I folded JJ to see QQ vs. AK... good fold me!.. flop comes JJ4. FRUSTRATING! Missed QUADS!
In the AsKs spot you explain, it sure appears I MIGHT have considered seeing a flop there... caling 2,000 would've still left you over ten blinds if you had to give up on the hand post flop. And such a big raise from big stack preflop doesn't scream monster, so hitting the flop at all would've had to have lead you to believe you were good.
Anyway, you asked. ("Would you have?") Just my $0.02. Of course I don't know if I really would have, just my initial reaction. See you at the $1 rebuy donkfest soon huh. Have a good weekend.
I like AK late in a tournament if I'm the one pushing the action. I shove there.
Wow, that is a really tough fold. All-in-all it's almost always better to err on the safe side, and making the call there would have put you in a nasty drawing situation with too much risk for it to really pay off in the long run. Even so I'm not sure I would have been able to fold AKs even in such a position.
But you've got to look at it from the point of view of what pays off in the long run, not what happened after the flop came down. Imagine where you would have been had you made the call and then had to fold after the flop. Better opportunities always come along.
That doesn't mean that it absolutely sucks when you end up missing something so big :(
Err... that should read: "That doesn't mean that it doesn't absolutely suck..."
