Can someone explain to me why it costs almost TWICE as much to go AC instead of Vegas? When it's half the distance and for half as long??
Toronto to Atlantic City, includes TWO nights in 2.5 star hotel and flight
= $1,247 CDN.
Toronto to Las Vegas, includes FOUR nights in 3 star hotel and flight
= $762 CDN.
Insane.
So, as much as I would love to join y'all for the AC blogger event in March, I'm going to have to pass and save my spendolies for June and July.

Simple. You have to pay the pilots that much more just to have them consider having to go to New Jersey. They have less time in the air to drink.
YAY!!!!! I'm soooo looking forward to June. We'll have so much fun!!
I can't condone spending twice as much either to visit AC.
Boathouse is a different story.
Can you fly into Philly for less?
Drizz, the Boathouse is a law unto itself *grin.
Flight only to AC - 1300 CDN
Flight only to Philly, a mere 73 kms away - 675 CDN
I'm sure this makes sense to someone.
AC doesn't actually have a proper airport, so (1) there aren't many direct flights except from hubs of major airlines, (2) you have to switch planes to take a commuter jet and (3) all flights into AC are exorbitantly expensive. NJ Transit trains from downtown Philly are only $7.25 each way though (it's an hour and 40 minutes on the train, so you're still saving time if you can get a direct flight into Philly.)
Same situation coming from Chicago. I was bummed. And when I think of going to Vegas for half the price.... Vegas > AC. (I used to live in Philly and went to AC weekly).
Kat, if you want to go, take the others' advice here and fly into Philly. It's way cheaper than AC as you've seen, and you can get a commuter train from Philly to AC for under $10 ($20 if you throw in a couple of cab rides to and from). Flying in to AC always sucks and I would never do it.
Let's not forget that Vegas is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay (yes that many a's) more popular than AC, so there are far more flights into it. More flights = more competition = lower prices. I'd imagine you're looking at a bigger plane too, so even more passengers.
Besides, as has been said... AC is in Joisey... so there's things like danger pay and nose plugs that have to be factored into the airline cost.
awww...:( boooo....
